Doodle by Anthony CottonTips for organisers

Here are a few tips and ideas to make the most of your National Doodle Day event:

    • Get as many people involved as you can!

    • To get people involved why not design some posters to put up around your school?

    • You could advertise the event on the school website

    • You could run your own Doodle day competition at school before sending on the doodles.

    • Doodle by Roger Allam

Last year, some pupils were asked at the end of a class to sum up what they had just learned in a doodle – and it seemed to greatly improve their learning!

    • Create a ‘doodle gallery’ to brighten up the school hall, corridors and reception areas

    • You could doodle to music – one teacher said this created her most peaceful lesson ever!

    • Anyone of any age can take part, and that includes pupils as well as teachers!

    • Pupils and staff can enter as individuals or as a whole school, part school or class.

    • You can enter as many times as you like – it just means more money for the charities concerned!

    • Why not get parents or even your local community involved?

    • Doodles by Simon KeenleysideRemember to tell your local paper. They are bound to be interested!

    • There are no rules about what constitutes a doodle – just let your imagination take over and enjoy yourself!

    • This years’ theme is ‘doodle daydreams’. But why not come up with your own?

    • Check out the celebrity Gallery for inspiration.

    • Above all, remember to have fun!
