How can my company get involved?

Getting your company involved in National Doodle Day is really easy.  Just follow these simple steps:

Doodle by Sarah Jane Bilz from American Expressstep one

Due to the overwhelming success of National Doodle Day, we've run out of cards to send out!

However, that doesn't stop you from taking part in National Doodle Day. You can either:

  • download and use one of our doodle cards, or

  • just use your own sheet of A5 card.

If you do use your own piece of card, please write the following information on the back:
    - your name.
    - the name of your school/group/business (if applicable),
    - your age group (5 & under, 6 to 11, 12 to 16, 17 to 24, 25 to 59 or 60 & over)
    - your address including your post code
    - your telephone number
    - and your email address

We can still send out organiser's packs containing hints and tips for organising your National Doodle Day event. You can get one of those by emailing us on doodles@nationaldoodleday.org.uk or calling 0113 210 8800.

Step two

Organise Doodle Day at your place of work (see tips for organisers for ideas and inspiration!)

Although National Doodle Day is on Friday 7 March 2008 you can organise your own Doodle Day at any time that suits you.

The basic principle is to encourage as many people as possible to take part and to ask for a £1 donation for each doodle entered in the Doodle Day competition.

Step three

Send in your doodle cards but don’t forget:

  • The deadline for returning completed Doodle Cards is Monday 31 March 2008.

  • Make sure each person who has taken part has filled in their name, age and company name on the doodle card.

  • Remember to enclose a cheque to the value of the donations collected. Cheques should be made payable to 'National Doodle Day'

  • Finally, post all the doodle cards with your cheque to

Tips for organisers

Here are a few tips and ideas to make the most of your National Doodle Day event:

  • Get as many people involved as you can!

  • To get people involved why not design some posters to put up around your place of work?

  • You could advertise the event on the companies website or intranet

  • You could run your own Doodle day competition at your place of work before sending on the doodles.

  • Why not create a ‘doodle gallery’ to brighten up meeting rooms and your reception areas

  • You could doodle to music.

  • You can enter you doodles as individuals or as a whole company

  • You can enter as many times as you like — it just means more money for the charities concerned!

  • Why not get partners, suppliers or even your neighbours involved?

  • Remember to involve your PR team or tell your local paper about your fundraising, they are bound to be interested!

  • There are no rules about what constitutes a doodle - just let your imagination take over and enjoy yourself!

  • This year's theme is ‘Just doodle it ’ but why not come up with your own?

  • Check out the celebrity Gallery for inspiration.

  • Above all, remember to have fun!
